PES Performance target Business Cost Solutions
Sheffield based engineering design solutions business, PES Performance Ltd has introduced a new service to its portfolio which can help companies to identify business efficiencies, reduce their business costs and increase profits.
PES Performance made the decision to introduce the business cost service as one of its solutions after receiving enquiries about operating costs from many of its manufacturing clients.
Experience has shown that nine out of ten firms can make reductions on their business costs and with the help of PES Performance these can be on average 27%. The new service covers value engineering with part of the process reviewing major expenditure such as utilities, telecoms, insurance and many other operating costs.
Neville Snell has now joined the PES Performance team as Director of Business Cost Solutions. He has a strong track record in the management of complex businesses and has held a number of Senior Board positions including his last role as CEO of a multi-million pound service organisation. Through his varied experience and knowledge of driving efficiencies, Neville is able to assist firms identify business cost reduction opportunities.
Neville’s skills complement those of PES Performance’s managing director Mike Maddock who gained his experience in senior corporate positions before setting up PES Performance with business partner Dan Fleetcroft. In fact both Neville and Mike have known each other for 20 years and have worked on complex change programmes together previously.
As Neville explains;
“Every organisation needs a business cost management strategy irrespective of size. As an example, in most companies’ energy expenses rank in the top five of business costs but are still largely unmanaged and left to the incumbent provider to ensure you get best value.
“As a standard service for PES Performance clients we provide a no-commitment free business costs health check, so at the very least business owners can have peace of mind that their business is getting the best deals available and at least allowing them to close the gap with European competitors.
“Where savings are identified we can help secure the best tariffs, including those not always available on the open market due to our level of procurement spend on behalf of our clients. Not only do we get the most suitable deals for our clients but we manage the whole account management process for them. All this is paid for by the suppliers we use and not the clients so in effect this is a no cost solution for our clients.”
Mike Maddock says;
“A key focus of PES Performance is the delivery of performance enhancing solutions for our clients using our design and engineering support to optimise the efficiency and performance of their business. This can be through more efficient manufacturing processes or employing new technologies to their equipment, processes, products or all three.
“Our work is ultimately to help clients make their business more competitive within their market and maximise bottom line profits utilising all the tools and applied technologies available to us. More and more we are being asked to support clients to review and optimise manufacturing process and carry out a value engineering review.
“After the challenges business have had to face over the past six years, when we have delivered a project for our clients to optimise the design or manufacturing process they often discuss the challenges they face of high operating cost proportionate to some of their competitors, and this is an area we are now looking to address for them with this new service.
The new service can now support small business clients, who do not have the time or the experience to review costs and know if they are securing the best rates. Likewise a Financial Director of a large SME does not necessarily have the time to continuously review the market and ensure they are driving the best deals for their company. Their key focus is largely strategic and to ensure the delivery of the firm’s business strategy.
“We realised that with our senior business management experience we can deliver more than just an engineering solution. With Neville joining the team we are now able to offer real solutions to our clients and with over 40 years senior management experience we have the experience and credibility to support our clients.
“Both myself and Neville have worked in senior management roles within large corporate businesses as well as running smaller organisations and so have the experience and understanding of the impact that costs have upon a business’ performance.”
“Interestingly since the launch not only have we have already supported businesses in our network but also outside of the Engineering and Manufacturing sector, having recently delivered saving for an Schools Academy achieving savings in excess of £29.5k.
